How to Join

Any grower, commercially producing one or more Assured Produce (AP) crops can join the scheme.

1. Choose a Certifier
Four companies provide certification services for AP. To join the scheme, you first need to select one. Click the link below for information and to contact any certifier.

Applicants then receive an application form, a checklist of the requirements and the relevant protocols that set the standards.

2. Meeting the Standard
Before assessment, growers can review the both the standards and comprehensive guidance available from this web site.

3. Assessment
This usually consists of an initial visit by the assessor, the submission of documentary evidence by the grower as to any issues raised by the visit and an annual visit thereafter.

Assessment will be made against Critical Failure Points which must be met, and Strongly Recommended Points that compliance with will form a part of the certification/approval decision.

4. Certification
The certifier issues a certificate based on the assessor's report and documentary evidence submitted by the grower.

In the event that an assessment shows a grower has not met a requirement of the standard, the certifier may suspend the grower's certificate until the grower has provided evidence that this non-conformance has been corrected.
