Safe Haven
The Safe Haven Certification Scheme is the scheme instigated by the Potato Council with the support of the National Farmers Union (NFU), NFU Scotland and other bodies in response to a number of isolated outbreaks of the potato disease Ring Rot.
The aim of the scheme is to prevent any further outbreaks of Ring Rot occurring in Britain, as these could be potentially devastating particularly to the British seed potato export industry.
Growers who are already members of Assured Produce can have their Safe Haven audit carried out at the same time with very little in the way of extra cost and effort.
